getting low seeds/peers

even though this has nothing to do with the koobe tracker, thought this might be the appropiate forum to post

I?m trying to download a dvdr movie from a tracker which has like 500 seeds/ 800 peers , but why my bt client is just connected to 10 seeds and 11 peers ? why not more? i?m getting shitty speed of 5k/s, while there are so many peers at the tracker. Any tips or other configurations?

i?m using bittornado, tried other clients like abc, shadow and azarus before, they all just connect to a limited amount of seeds/peers :(

i?d really want to connect to more peers so i can grab the dvdr faster with my 2mbit now grrrrr

Check your Bit Torrent Client settings for max connections or max peers[something like that]. Set it higher for your connection. Set it something like 30.Your 2Mbps connection can handle that.However do not set it too high.[You already have a lot of seeds for the torrent, so check if you are downloading from seeds or from peers. Have atleast 1/3 to 1/2 of peers as seeds,else disconnect-you're probbaly uploading more than you're downloading.]
